Kesgrave High School

Main Road, Kesgrave, Ipswich, IP5 2PB

is a Lead School in the Network of Excellence

quote The ICT and Computing teachers at Kesgrave have a huge variety of computing skills and experience between them. This ranges from the studying of specific degree qualifications and courses to previous industry experience. This has enabled us to offer to our students: A-Level Computing (which we have taught for a number of years), GCSE Computer Science (which we have recently introduced) as well as a core computing element in our newly rewritten KS3 schemes of work. As a department we are fully committed to the teaching of computing throughout all key stages. We were one of the schools that won a BCS bursary which we are using to run a Primary training day to help schools in our area to introduce and teach computing and it is our aim to further develop links and offer long term support and advice. However we would not be able to do any of this if it were not for the support and encouragement of the schools head teacher and SLT. They allow us the freedom to attend CAS meeting and conferences and actively encourage us to expand upon our subject knowledge and promote CPD. As a teaching school Kesgrave are already actively involved in the sharing of good practice and have good links to other schools in the county. Therefore we already have the experience to call upon to successfully take part in the network of excellence as a lead school. quote
