During Summer 2016 CAS regional centres will be hosting a whole day Tenderfoot CPD workshops.

The Google funded Tenderfoot project provides high quality and curriculum rich CPD for key stage 3 computer science teachers.

Through 1-day sessions teachers will be introduced to a range of topics that will prepare them for key stage 3 and GCSE teaching including:

  • Clever Stuff for Common Problems: Going beyond simple algorithms
  • How Computers Do Stuff: A conceptual approach to programming
  • Theoretical Computers: Fun With Finite State Machines
  • Bits and Bytes: The digital advantage
  • Bits and Chips: Boolean logic and machine architecture
  • Simulating Our World: Adventures In Agent Based Modelling
