CAS Bolton Primary

The CAS Bolton Primary Community is run by Christopher Hill, Deputy Headteacher at Bolton St Catherine’s Academy.

We welcome people and offer a regular programme of meetings throughout the academic year to address the issues of the working ICT/Computing teacher.

We believe in sharing good practice and helping each other to improve – no matter what level of computing ability we have or at what stage of teaching we are.

CAS Blackpool Primary Community is led by Tom Sale from Mereside Primary School.

CAS Bootle SEND

The CAS Bootle SEND Community has been set up by Jennifer Talbot, a specialist SEN Computer Teacher at Rowan High School, to offer SEN teachers in other schools the chance to discuss computing resources for students with SEND needs.

Hub meetings will consist of: Discussions around ICT/Computing qualifications suitable for SEND students; Moderation of coursework; Developing subject knowledge around the new computational-thinking element of the curriculum (including Python programming); Embedding the use of technology in the classroom to aid the progress of SEND students; Sharing lesson resources and Schemes of Work; Discussing best practice around measuring progress and behaviour management in ICT suites for SEND students.

CAS Lancashire East Secondary

The CAS Lancashire East Secondary Community is led by Phil Hackett, CAS Master Teacher, who welcomes new members.

The Community is intended to be a forum for sharing best practice, resources and ideas. It will be a place to network with other colleagues, to up-skill where needed and to carry out research in to different teaching approaches to support the teaching of Computer Science.

KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE & A-Level teachers of Computer Science are welcome, whatever degree of experience. Refreshments are provided - please book through CAS Online’s Events listings.
