Should you wish to register for this event, you will be taken to a booking link on an external website.
Computing at School is not accountable for any aspect of the content or management of this event.

As part of Computing Science in Education week ( CAS Aberdeen would like to get students to take part in The Hour of Code as well as learn more about the possibilities offered by the Raspberry Pi.

Taking place in the public display area at Satrosphere, this FREE demonstration & hands-on workshop is aimed at primary or secondary school students (however it is not exclusive - feel free to come along and pay at the door if you are not a student or accompanying teacher!).

Some of the mini workshops already planned for the event:

  • Setting up the Raspberry Pi
  • Creating an animation or game in Scratch
  • Writing a computer program in Python
  • Physical computing using LEDs and jelly babies!
  • Command-line computing
  • How to build a Raspberry Pi media centre
(more to come!)

Signing Up

Interested schools should reserve tickets for their students from the allocation below. Please also ensure that you reserve tickets for each teacher accompanying the school group as, for Health and Safety reasons, there is a limit on number of attendees.
On the Day
The event runs from 12.30 until 3.30pm and it is expected that the mini workshops will be repeated a number of times to allow as many students as possible hands on time with the Raspberry Pi devices.

Please bring a paper copy of your ticket for the event to ensure quick entry to Satrosphere.
The event is being held in the public area of Satrosphere so school groups may decide to arrive later or leave earlier as appropriate, but teachers remain responsible for their own school groups at all times.

Any Questions?

If you would like to volunteer to help at the event (yes please!) or have any questions, please contact Ian Simpson using the details provided in the Organiser description section.
