Alfreton Nursery School

Monday Jun 24, 2019 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM

To consider: transition to secondary, badges, use of multiple-choice quizzes, and computing in early years.

The focus of the CAS Assessment working group in the summer term 2019 is the assessment of computing in primary. There are 4 aspects to consider:

Transition - what can be reasonably expected of us to provide for our secondary colleagues to reflect the skills, knowledge, understanding and attitudes towards computing of our pupils?

Badges - to what extent can badges be used to monitor, reward and celebrate progress in computing of our pupils?

MCQs - how can we use 10-question quizzes (Quantum) to encourage, measure and evidence progress in computing?

Early Years computing and assessment – how do we ensure children are understanding and how is that information passed to their infant school?

This is the first of three meetings, held on consecutive days.

It will establish the potential and practical classroom activities and make recommendations. There will be a focus the early years aspects. The subsequent meetings will review and refine the findings.

At each meeting there will be presentations describing the opportunities and current good practice.

Light refreshments available.

Unfortunately cover payment is not possible.

Travel expenses will be paid if your employer will not pay.
