Monday Mar 25, 2019 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM

Meeting at The Beaufort Cooperative Academy, Gloucester

10.00 for 10.30 start* until 4.00pm

The CAS Assessment working group are volunteer CAS members who discuss, research and report on matters relating to assessment of computing from key stage 1 through to post-16.

The current focus is assessment of computing in key stage 3. Previous work included a primary focus, NEA review, supporting consultations.
The meeting on Monday 25th will be to review the areas of concern, challenge or opportunity for assessing computing, computer programming and computational thinking. The first meeting has already identified some themes:
• Inclusive practice in assessment
• Assessment for learning (good teaching)
• Assessment through teaching
• Feedback - online, paper-based or face-to-face
• Computational Thinking: algorithms.

Our input and discussions at the session will not be limited to those areas.
All attendees and other wg members will be able to contribute through a shared online document.

*if you are a teacher and can only attend the afternoon session (2.00 to 4.00pm) then please sign up but email to let us know. The afternoon session will be a presentation of the ideas discussed and a number of proposals that can be commented on, refined or rejected! It will be valuable CPD for key stage 3 computing teachers and subject leaders for computing.
