Raspberry Pi Minecraft Hacking!

hosted by Lucy Bunce

Y Pant School, Pontyclun

Wednesday 23rd October 2013

5pm - 7pm

Tea / coffee / biscuits available

Come along and find out how to hack Minecraft on the Raspberry Pi!  It's a great hook into programming in Python for kids as it actually gives them a purpose to creating the code.

I'll show you how to run Minecraft on the Raspberry Pi and give you some short programmes to create and edit.

Some Python knowledge would be helpful but not at all essential.

Places are limited as I have 10 Raspberry Pi's in school so people will have to share work in collaborative groups but also only have some screens that work with the HDMI.

You don't need to bring a Raspberry Pi with you, but if you do, please bring all cables and keyboard/mice.

If you don't know what Minecraft is, ask an 11 year old....

The meeting will take place in Room 1.

Directions to get to Y Pant are on the school website.  Once through the gates follow the road round to the left towards the school buildings.  You should be able to park anywhere infront of the buildings either to the left or right as most staff will have left by then.  However if possible please don't park on the courtyard right outside reception as the bus for the after-school clubs has to turn there.

Reception is signposted.  If you come into the building and then bear round to the right, follow the corridor down to the end to find Room 1.
