Engaging and purposeful KS1 programming

October 1, 2018 at 4:00PM

Huish Primary School, Yeovil

Opportunity for KS1 teachers to further develop the programming experiences they offer their learners.

Julia Briggs

Training, materials and advice I provide are based on a passionately held belief in planning for the development of computational thinking alongside creativity when implementing a computing curriculum. As an education advisor in Somerset I am part of a team supporting primary and special schools. As an outcome of my Master’s Degree in 2013, I developed a model of computational thinking that is used within the Barefoot resources. I worked with teachers and colleagues to develop the Wessex planning that has been used nationally and internationally. This has now been updated and extended within a new format as ‘New Wessex Planning’ to make it customisable for a school’s own context.

All materials and resources used on this course will be made available to all delegates after the course.
