#exabits Pair Programming for GCSE Computer Science


Presenter: Alan O'Donohoe,

Aims: This event is to provide teachers with a proven method and resources for teaching programming, algorithms and Computational Thinking for GCSE Computer Science in their schools based on Pair Programming pedagogy. Suitable also for teachers of Key Stage 3 Computing, it will provide teachers with some tried & tested strategies to ensure successful outcomes for their students when tackling programming assignments and NEAs for GCSE. Attendees will be provided with some free resources that teachers can use straight away with their own classes.

  • Modelling strategies to support less confident learners
  • Developing students confidence with problem solving
  • Using a text-based programming language to develop a solution
  • Sharing solutions to benefit all learners
