16.30 - 18.00 - Crumbles II - Robots, Sensors & Servos

Following on from the success of the Crumble CPD at the last hub meeting, Waveney Primary Hub presents a further interactive CPD session for teachers and teaching assistants using, Crumbles, Crumblebots, Motors, Sensors and Servos.

The session will further address the KS2 CS requirement to cover a broad range of inputs and outputs and the control of physical systems through practical group work with Crumbles, Crumbs and Crumblebots.

The session will address (in part) the following Computer Science KS2 requirements:

  • design, write and debug programs that accomplish specific goals, including controlling or simulating physical systems;
  • solve problems by decomposing them into smaller parts;
  • use sequence, selection, and repetition in programs;
  • work with variables and various forms of input and output;
  • use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect and correct errors in algorithms and programs.

No previous experience of Crumble systems is required but previous experience of the Scratch programming environment would be helpful.

18:00 - 18:25 - Plenary Discussion. A quick review of progress in introducing the computing curriculum to your schools. Sharing of success or learning points as a group. Identification of future CPD and support needs. Up and coming events of interest.

18.25 - 18.30  Feedback, AOB and close.

(Programme timings may change)

We look forward to seeing you.
