CAS East of England Regional conference - Norwich

A day of CPD workshops to support the teaching of Computing in primary and secondary schools. The event will consist of four, hour long, slots, with one primary and one secondary session per slot. CAS Master Teachers, Hub Leaders, Regional Centre leads and University Academics will be presenting and the programme can be found here
For primary teachers, sessions include:
Introducing physical computing with Scratch, Raspberry Pi and Pibrella
Using technology to inspire in the Early Years
Computing unplugged with Barefoot
For secondary teachers, sessions include:
Formative assessment and the knowledge based curriculum
Finding the human solution to problems to aid programming
BAFTA Young Game Designers Teacher Workshop
This is a free event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Registration for the event is between 10:30am and 10:45am in the DarT room, which is within the School of Computer Sciences at UEA (building 5, in sector J21 on the Campus map - https://www.uea.ac.uk/documents/3154295/3352666/UEA+Campus+Map ). Instructions from the various car parks are below the main body of this message. Tea and coffee will be available on arrival.
With regards to parking, the main car park is P1, which is near the words "University Drive” on the above map and becomes available for use at 10.30am. Car park P5 is also an option. Please put a note in your windscreen to say that you have yet to collect your visitor permit for the CAS Regional Conference. We will give you a permit when you arrive at the DarT room to register, which can then be placed in your vehicle. If you are given a token when entering a car park, please retain it and we will explain how to exit the car park during the introduction to the day.
Finding room DarT from UEA car parks:
From the main car park, P1 on the map, walk across the zebra crossing toward the building with the flag on the top. Walk along the walkway directly to the right of that building and keep going until you come to an entrance on your right that says School of Computing Sciences and School of Mathematics (this is building 5, in sector J21 on the map). Enter the building and turn left, go up two flights of stairs. Take the corridor in front of you on the right and walk to the end into the DarT room.
From the Central Visitors Car Park, P5 on the map, walk through the curved residential building towards the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. Follow the road to the left past another small car park, then take the spiral concrete stairs up to the walkway. Walk along the walkway and keep going until you come to an entrance on your left that says School of Computing Sciences and School of Mathematics (this is building 5, in sector J21 on the map). Enter the building and turn left, go up two flights of stairs. Take the corridor in front of you on the right and walk to the end into the DarT room.
